Alphonso Davies RETURNS for Bayern Munich after lengthy layoff
Alphonso Davies has made his (triumphant!) return to the playing field after a nearly-4 month spell on the sidelines, featuring from the start as Bayern Munich fell 1-0 to Villarreal in the 1st leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-finals clash.
Davies has been ruled out since the start of the year as he recovered from a case of myocarditis - inflammation of the muscles lining the heart - following a positive COVID-19 infection.
And, while he bore witness to Canada's great achievements in World Cup Qualifying via his engaging and emotional Twitch streams, his absence on the field was certainly felt among John Herdman's ranks.
With the Bavarian outfit monitoring his recovery, manager Julian Nagelsmann continued to deliver positive updates, until Davies finally returned to training, before quickly earning a return to the Bayern starting lineup.
As expected, the Canadian superstar performed admirably, too - fitting his recent accolade of being named Concacaf Men's Player of the Year.
A WELCOME RETURN 🙌
