The Canadian men's national team defeated the U.S. men's national team 2-1 on Saturday in Kansas City for their first win on U.S. soil since 1957.
A first-half goal by Jacob Shaffelburg gave Canada the 1-0 lead through half-time, which Jonathan David doubled early in the second half as Canada looked comfortably in control for the first hour of play. And, apart from a Luca de la Torre goal to cut things back to 2-1, the Canadians were rarely tested over 90 minutes as they cruised to victory.
