ANALYSIS + HIGHLIGHTS: Toronto FC vs. CS Saint-Laurent (May 21, 2024) | TELUS Canadian Championship
Toronto FC has advanced to the semi-finals of the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship after defeating Ligue1 Quebec side CS Saint-Laurent 8-1 at BMO Field to follow-up on a 3-0 win in Leg 1 for an 11-1 aggregate victory.
A first-half hat-trick and a fourth by DeAndre Kerr coupled with goals from Cassius Mailula, Derrick Etienne Jr., an own goal by Nathan Goulet, and, finally, Prince Owusu's round-out effort proved the difference over these 90 minutes, in a series that was, in truth, all but finalized after the first leg.
But a late goal by CS Saint-Laurent's Rickson Aristilde gave the visitors something to celebrate on a night that saw them test the TFC 'keeper a number of times, despite playing down a man after a first-half red card for a high boot.
The Reds now await their semi-finals fate as Leg 2 of the quarter-finals continues to roll on, right here on OneSoccer.
